Free pet microchip sessions
FREE pet microchipping is on offer at the Cairns Regional Council’s animal care and education centre.

A council spokesman said it was an opportunity for residents to get their dog and cat safely and permanently identified at no cost.
“Microchipping is a reliable and simple way to be reunited with your pet if it gets lost, providing a permanent form of identification that can’t be removed or lost like a collar or tag,” he said.
“The microchip contains a unique number linked to your contact information in a database, making it easy for (the) council, shelters and vets to scan the chip and contact you if your pet is found.”
The free microchipping sessions at the centre, 55 Links Dr, Woree will be held on:
Monday, April 28 from 1pm to 4pm
Tuesday, April 29 from 1pm to 4pm
Wednesday, April 30 from 9am to noon
Friday, May 2 from 9am to 4pm.
Pre-registration is recommended. Secure a preferred time and complete the global microchip registry form in advance at
