Cairns Regional Council COVID Update (What's open)
Cairns Regional Council has released a comprehensive list of Council services and facilities affected by the 3-day lockdown.
The following Council facilities and services will be closed in line with the 3-day lockdown that comes into effect at 4pm today.
Indoors
Customer Service Centres: our call centre remains open, call 1300 69 22 47. You can also report a problem online via our website or using the My Cairns app
Arts and cultural venues: Cairns Performing Arts Centre, Tanks Arts Centre, the Court House gallery
Libraries
Community halls
Indoor sporting facilities
Buy Back Shop
Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre
Outdoors
Parks and beaches remain open for exercise, however the following facilities are closed:
Public BBQs
Fitness equipment
Playgrounds including Muddy’s Playground and the Fun Ship Playground
Basketball and tennis courts
Bump tracks and BMX tracks (within parks)
The Esplanade Activity Precinct (skate plaza, bouldering park, beach volleyball courts, multi-purpose court)
The Lagoon and Council-run swimming pools
Flecker Gardens
Cancellations
The following programs and events are also cancelled until further notice:
Active Living free fitness program
Olympics Live presented by Westpac (Olympic live-stream on the Esplanade)
Senior’s Week Positive Ageing Fair, scheduled for Friday 13 August
Council’s Committee Meetings on Wednesday 10 August will continue but will be closed to the public. You can watch the live stream at: https://webcast.cairns.qld.gov.au/
