Three charged after armed robbery investigation
Cairns Detectives have charged a 33-year-old Manoora man, an 18-year-old Mooroobool man and a 17-year-old Mooroobool boy following investigations into the armed robbery of a Westcourt business on August 1.
Around 12am on Sunday August 1, police will allege the men entered the business with their faces covered with one armed with a screwdriver.
One man approached the counter and threatened an employee before demanding money and other items.
They left the scene a short time later with a quantity of cash and a small quantity of cigarettes.
They were last seen running from the store along Mulgrave Road.
On August 4 around 3:40pm, police located and arrested the 18-year-old Mooroobool man at a Lomax Street address.
The man’s bail was denied and remained in police custody and was later charged with one count of armed robbery in company.
The man appeared before Cairns Magistrates Court on August 5.
On August 4 around 5:30pm, police located and arrested the 33-year-old Manoora man at a McEwen Street address.
The man’s bail was denied and remained in police custody and was later charged with one count of armed robbery in company.
The man appeared before Cairns Magistrates Court on August 5.
Around 9:40am yesterday (August 11), police located and arrested the 17-year-old Mooroobool boy at Frances Street address.
The boy’s bail was denied and remained in police custody and was later charged with one count of armed robbery in company.
He was scheduled to appear before the Cairns Children’s Court.
