The event, which debuts on Saturday, July 15 from 6.30 pm features a deadly Indigenous line-up including national act Spinifex Gum (comprising the female voices of Marliya Choir,

Felix Riebl from Cat Empire and Emma Donovan) plus Shakaya, Normey Jay and Uncle Harold Bowen.

Hot on the heels of their sell-out Sydney Opera House performance with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Marliya Choir (Spinifex Gum) are much-anticipated headliners at CIAF’s opening night celebrations and Music in the Park – Live it Up!

Added to this is Hopevale singer Uncle Harold Bowen, Cairns’ much loved, homegrown duo Naomi

Wenitong and Simone Stacey of Shakaya, set to stage their vocal reunion with 2002 hit ‘Stop Callin’ Me’ while Normey Jay, singer of 40 Tribes of Bwgcolman, is bound to be a crowd pleaser with his soulful sound.

Between Thursday and Sunday July 13-16, the tropical city of Cairns moves to a lively and artistic beat in an all-Queensland, cultural celebration of First Nations.

In 2023 CIAF will present its biggest and most culturally immersive program to date.
