X-CLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK AT NEW CLUB

X-clusive opens in Spence St next week with the focus on cheaper drinks, hip hop and RnB.

The VIP opening is next Thursday and the club will be open Thursdays through to Sundays from 8pm-3am.

A stunning ‘tunnel of love’ draws patrons into the nightclub and neon lights feature throughout,  with a main bar as well as three private booths which can be booked and available with full bar service.

Matt Hill is the manager of the venue which was once the Kezz Bar and has been closed since before COVID.

The 23-year-old has been working in the nightclub scene in Cairns since 2018, including at The Woolshed, XS Nightlife (now closed) and the Republic RnB, across a variety of roles, including bar tending, a DJ and a manager.

“It’s the same layout (as before) and we’ve been working on it for eight months,” he said.

The main infrastructure remains but new features include lighting, neon lights, upholstery, wallpaper and sound system.

Mr Hill said the aim was to draw the young crowd, “however everyone is welcome”.

“We like the young crowd as they tend to spend more money,” he said.

“We are going to run promos constantly, cheaper drinks than everyone else,” he said.

For example, it will be $11 for cans of Jack Daniels or Canadian Club and $9 for stubbies of beer. A variety of cocktails will be on the menu.

“We will have six serving stations so six staff as well as full security,” Mr Hill said.

“People are excited about the first new nightclub in Cairns in over a year,” he said. “We welcome locals, visitors and tourists.”

Mr Hill said the venue would be available for private hire and a small restaurant will open at the front to serve food late at night.

“There will be no entry fee for the first few weeks and later it will be $10 per person,” he said.

One hundred guests have been invited to the special VIP opening next Thursday. Guest DJ Mistah Cee from Brisbane will be at the opening as well as DJ P.O MM and DJ Zaccu. Other  local DJs, from interstate and overseas will feature in weeks to come.
