Priscilla - Queen of the Desert comes to the Clink Theatre
A timeless, glitter-soaked tale in full showgirl glory, all set to a sequinned disco pop soundtrack!
Priscilla – Queen of the Desert, written and directed by Stephan Elliot, is a story many of us know well: three drag queens - one young, one old and one hiding a couple of secrets - buy a bus, christen it Priscilla, and head west from Sydney to Alice Springs. Braving adventure across the less-than-drag- familiar Australian outback, the trio encounter the usual concoction of Australian stereotypes drizzled with a touch of homophobia and intolerance, all topped with feathers, frocks, and a celebration of all things fabulous.
The Douglas Theatre Arts Group will be bringing this quintessential Australian story to life at the Port Douglas Clink Theatre, complete with excessive amounts of glitter, sequins, and high-camp tunes, from March 31 – April 17th.
