Organiser Tee Ketu said Rock ‘n’ Roar 4 Paws was to raise money for the struggling Mareeba Animal Refuge.

“This event is all about our communities and musicians coming together to raise funds for Mareeba Animal Refuge, which is facing financial hardship,” she said.

“What better time than now to give back, let your hair down and celebrate the fact that we have the power to make a difference in the world and we can make more of an impact by coming together over issues in our own backyard.”

Performers include Sparetyre, Poundcake, Enemy of Anemone, No Tomorrow, Katie Richards Band, Wind and Wood, Lucy Gallant, Amber McIntosh, Ivy Amara, Abi Muir, Elani Butler, Jasper Rae, Kaweyova, Yen Gardiner, Izak Scott, FT Umalicious, Dreboy, Tinderbox, Frank Ridge, Taipan Tucketr and Marty Bell.

“Mareeba Animal Refuge has been operating for 16 years helping families and animals find their forever homes, but not only that, the refuge also works closely with a lot of programs, from people with disabilities to our local correctional services, and work experience programs etc,” Ms Ketu said. “I’m sure we could do our bit to see these programs continue and keep the doors of the refuge open by getting behind this fantastic event.

“You could even score yourself an early Christmas present as we have loads of raffle prizes up for grabs which will be announced very soon.”

The event is on Saturday, November 25 with a special and mystery Brisbane DJ who will be ending the night.

“It is fun for the entire family. We will have games and activities for the children, and, as for your pets, they are more than welcome as long as they are on leads at all times,” Ms Ketu said.

“Good vibes Grooming Studio have kindly offered their grooming services at the event offering a free furbaby nail trim,” she said.

More than 300 people are expcted to attend.

Entry is $25 online or $35 at the door.
