Cayla's Court Friday November 20
Welcome back for week two of Cayla’s Court where I bring you all the action from the 2020 WNBL. I will recap the week that was and give you my top picks for the must see matches as round two comes to a close this weekend.
Sadly, this round sees us end the week a team down.
When I said the teams would face unique challenges this season I don’t think anyone could have predicted Adelaide being sent back into quarantine.
I can safely say every player in every team is thinking of them and looking forward to seeing them back on the court soon.
When it comes to play, Southside are still the team to beat with seven past and present Opals in their ranks.
This weekend sees us kick off games in Cairns which should all be really good battles.
Hope to see you courtside at one of the matches and join me again next week for all the goss from round three.
Saturday November 21
6.30pm Cairns: Perth vs Southside: Perth battle. They’ve got some tall youth there and some good size. Hopefully they’ve got Katie Rae Ebzery back and Alex Ciabattoni and they can really take Southside on Saturday.
8.30pm Cairns: Sydney vs UC Capitals: The Capitals are well drilled and have a nice chunk of core players that are back from injury so they’re slowly getting their squad back which is good.
They are the reigning champions, back to back and play really smart basketball. Sydney Uni play pretty hard and they’re coming into the league with a fresh team so this will be a good battle.
Sunday November 22
12pm Townsville: Melbourne vs Adelaide: postponed
2pm Townsville: Bendigo vs Townsville: Bendigo are continuing to get better as a young side but will need to keep improving defensively to stay in the game vs Townsville, especially on their home court!
